Diversity Davies Report published 24 February 2011 formed a backdrop for efforts to improve diversioty among executives targeted four business reasons why companies must take the issue of having a more diverse board, seriously
1. improved corporate performancea combination of backgrounds and experiences makes for a wider group of skills for making rounder decisions2. Corporate Governanceevidence suggests that having women on boards leads to greater emphasis being placed on corporate governance, being more likely to adopt guidance and be assertive when evaluating performance3. wider talent poolin the US and Eurpoe more than half of all graduates are women. This proportion of the skilled workforce cannot be ignored4. market responsivenessclients and customers respond better to some women being in a business rather than a male dominated workforce
