Before the discovery of oil, it was a land of nomadic herders.  With the exports of oil came a vast amount of oil into Saudi Arabia: a) Oil brought jobs. b) Nomadic tribes left the desert to work in the oil industry. c) Camels were replaced with jeeps and then jeeps with SUV
