solving linear equations:
Example: A person can pay £15 for a membership to the science museum and then can go to the museum for just £1 per visit. For a member of the science museum, what is the total cost for 6 visits?
How to work it out:
C=1x6+15
C=6+15
C=£21
Calculating averages:
Averages from a list of numbers.
1) Mode-most common number (the number that appears the most)
2) Median- put the numbers in order, find the middle number- when there are two middle number add together then divide by two.
3) Mean- add all together-divide by how many numbers there are.
4) Range- biggest number take away the smallest number.
Estimating the mean:
1) Create two columns
2) Work out midpoint
3) Times the midpoint by frequency
4) Find the total for only frequency and midpoint x frequency
5) Midpoint x Frequency divided by frequency
