why choose digital over analogue?

both signals pick up random noise; both signals weaken and reduce the quality of the sound

analogue signals become weaker as they travel- needs to be amplified at selected intervals

digital signals can travel long distances at higher quality

no need to tine digital tv because the reception does not need to be a certain frequency

digital signals have no variation in frequency or amplitude

analogue signals have many different values

when analogue signals become weaker, the quality of the signal gets worse- it is hard to distinguish between noise and original sound

if digital sounds weaken, the quality is maintained because the pulses can be recognised as being 1 or 0- therefore, any interference can be removed

noise is easily removed form a digital sound

more information can be sent at one time with a digital signal
