angular.module takes a name and array of dependencies.

It says everything inside ng-app custom attribute is now connected to a variable in the global namespace.

Therefore the app you define then is connected to the part of the DOM defined by the element with the custom attr.

Defining a controller on your module takes a function. The controller connects a view to the model.

ng-controller can be applied to your HTML

Any code inside the controller will be associated with controlling the view with the model defined in the JS
