You can calculate the acceleration of an object from its change in velocity divided by time taken. Velocity is not exactly the same thing as speed, as it is speed but with a direction, for example, 25m/s is a speed, but 25m/s South is a velocity. Common velocities, however, are + (forwards) or - (backwards)
