Computer Science
Input Devices - any device to send data to the System E.g. mouse/ keyboard
Output Devices- any device to send data outside the system E.g. Printer, monitor
CPU(central processing unit) - Brain of the computer
ALU (Arithmetic logic unit)
used to perform all the logical calculations like + - */ etc
CU (control Unit)
Controls the flow of data from input devices to output devices, which is to be sent to ALU and memory
Primary Memory
RAM (random access memory)
ROM(Read only memory)
--→ 3. Charles Babbage invented the first computer in 1834 it was able to input process and output
4. Herman Hollerith designed a tabulating machine for summarizing. Considered as the first step towards programming
6. In 1945, we got the John von Neumann structure of CPU
8. 1970 we got Integrated Circuits (IC)
1. 500 BC abacus
2. in 1642 we got pascal's calculator by Blaize Pascal
5. in 1937 A Turing machine was creating for solving several problems via program stored on the punched card
7. in 1947 Transistors were developed at Bell labs
Memory
RAM (random access memory) we as a programmer or computer can only read without modifying it
→ Boot strap loader stores the instructions on operating system
RAM (random access memory) is the memory that is stored until the system has power once it loses power RAM is lost as well. The processor can use only data in RAM it is volatile.
More the ram more the speed
Primary memory contains RAM and ROM
