Enduring pattern of inner experience and behavior that deviates markedly from the expectations of the individual's culture, is pervasive and inflexible, has on onset in adolescence or early adulthood, is stable over time, and leads to distress or impairment. General Criteria A. Enduring pattern of inner experience and behavior that deviates markedly from the expectations of the individual's culture. Manifested in 2 or more: 1. Cognition 2. Affectivity 3. Interpersonal functioning 4. Impulse control B. The enduring pattern is inflexible and pervasive across a broad range of situations.C. Leads to clinically significant distress or impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning.
