Asteraceae (The Sunflower Family)
dicot 2 types: disk flowers: small corolla filling most of disk ray flowers: larger corollas (Dandelions) inflorescence arranged on disk-like base; whorls of bracts under base stamens: 5 (tiny & hard to count) leaves: variable form: variable ovary: inferior 1 ovule per ovary
Sunflowers are composed of both ray flowers and disk flowers. Dandelions are composed of only ray flowers.
