What is density? Density is the amount of matter in a fixed volume.
How do you calcuate density? Divide mass/ volume
How do you write density? grams/cm cubed
How do you measure the volume of irregular shapes? displacement
What is a mixture? A mixture is two or more pure substances mixed physically.
What are the two types fo mixtures? Homogenous and Heterogenous
What is a solution made up of? Solvent and solute
What is a solute and solvent? solute is the thing being dissolved and solvent is the thing doing the dissolving.
What is a suspension? A suspension is an unevenly mixed mixture.
What is sediment? Sediment is the matter left behind in a liquid.
What is decanting? Decanting is used to separate suspensions based off density.
What is centrifuging? Centrifuging uses gravity to separate suspesions based off density.
What is filtration? Filtration separates a mixture based off size and sates of matter.
What is seiving? Sieving is separating a mixture based on the particle sizes.
What is evaporation? Evaporation is separating mixtures based off boiling points.
What is distillation? Distillation is based of boiling points.
What is chromatography? RESEARCH
