George Boole introduced a form of notation to describe binary statements in 1847

Digital devices of systems use only two values which can be expressed in several ways

high or low

true of false

on or off

Logic gates are usually integrated circuits which belong to semiconductor families such as or CMOS

An AND logic gate has to have at least two inputs so if the inputs are called A and B you would have to have both inputs on at the same time for the output to work.. So the sum is A*B = Y

An OR logic gate has to inputs if A and B are inputs. The output would be A+B. So the formula is A+B = Y
