(1) Leucine Aminotransferase Converts leucine to glutamate
(2) Alanine Aminotransferase Pyruvate + Glutamate --> Alanine + Alphaketoglutarate
(3) Alanine Transferal Alanine is moved by the blood to the liver
(4) Alanine in the liver Alanine + Alphaketoglutarate (prod by other reactions) --> Glutamate (urea cycle) + Pyruvate
(5) Pyruvate in the liver Converted to glucose, which is transported in the blood back to the muscle
(6) Glucose in the muscle Converted to pyruvate, which is used to make alanine, and the cycle starts again
