- 1What is a topology?A topology refers to the layout of the network components: the cabling and position of the nodes.

Can be expensive to set up - 8What is ring topology?Data passes through each node, carried in units called tokens. Traffic is one way so prevents collision
- 9What the advantages of ring topology?Very fast (no collisions)
- 10What are the disadvantages of ring topology?Problems with backbone bring the whole network down
Data passes through every node making it very vulnerable to malfunction
