CSS

1. Cascading style sheets

   • CSS is a language that describes the style of an HTML document.
   • CSS describes how HTML elements should be displayed.

2. It can change the way a webpage looks

   • Text colour
     • color: white;
   • Text alignment
     • text-align: center;
   • Font
     • font-family: verdana;
   • Text size
     • font-size: 20px;
   • Background colour
     • background-color: lightblue;
       • For specific colours, you have to use a hexadecimal code
         • E.g. light purple is #bf80ff

3. To make a good webpage...

   • Use a maximum of three background colours (plus black and white)
   • Use a maximum of three font colours (including black and white)
     • It will otherwise be quite confusing and unprofessional.
   • Have a straightforward, easy-to-navigate site.
     • If people can't access your site easily, they won't use it.
   • Don't make it too complicated
     • People don't want to have to hunt for information. They want it clear and understandable.
   • Keep it up to date
     • It is really irritating when you find a website that hasn't been updated in years. Nobody will use it.
