1. BENEFITS

   • When data changes, formulas automatically recalculate
   • computers do not make mathematical errors like humans but GIGO (garbage in garbage out) still applies!
   • charts and graphs can be produced and customized very easliy
   • you can change information in a spread sheet model to make and test predictions ( what if investigations)
   • automatic recalculation - if one cell is changed, the whole total/result is changed
   • graphs and charts - data within the spread sheet can produce a graph or chart to make it easier to view
   • replication - if that formula is correct it can be dragged into other cells along the same row

2. FORMULAS

   • the sum needed to find out the answer, this must start with the = sign and use either the (+) (-) (*) (/) to do anay math type sum
   • =A9*G7 (IS AN EXAMPLE OF A FORMULA THIS FORMULA WILL TIMES WHATEVER IS IN CELL A9 AND G7

3. FORMATTING

   • when a cell is formatted it means that it has been given a border or text colour/font type has changed
   • also when a cell has a colour background to make it stand out as a heading or other important data
