He fought for
what he believed
in and he sorted
the King's
treason "problem"
out.
He was a very
good army
leader with lots
of discipline.
He ruled with
toleration and
moderation
Villain
He took more
power than any
king ever had
No Quarter, in the
17th century, people
weren't supposed to
kill surrenders. Oliver
Cromwell killed
everybody and took no
surrenders.
Oliver Cromwell set up his
army to tell people to go
west, or else they would die.
They died in the west
anyway because of poor
farmland and crop growth.
They starved. The land was
very barren.
Other
information
The Irish supported the King
during the Civil war. In 1649,
Ireland rebelled because the
King's head had been cut off.
Cromwell sent the army to
crush the rebellion, no quarter
which means give nothing, take
no prisoners, kill everybody. The
did in fact kill everybody,
rumours were that they nailed a
baby to a church door.
He was a
dictator, and
led purely
through force
only.
Oliver Cromwell got his
right to rule from the
army. He didn't have a
right to rule normally, as
a king.
