Pneumatics

1. SAC's single-acting cylinders

   • circuit symbol
   • image
   • SAC's use compressed air to push out a piston (outstroke) and a spring to push it in again (instroke).

2. 3/2 valves

   • circuit symabol
   • image
   • when the button is pushed it connects port1 to port2 allowing the air to flow.
     • when the button is released the air exhausts from port2 to port3 and the airflow stops.

3. unidirectional flow restrictor

   • circuit symbol
   • image
   • a unidirectional flow restrictor controls the speed airflow through a circuit
     • it can control the speed of an instroke or outstroke of a piston

4. shuttle valve

   • circuit symbol
   • image
   • shuttle valves allow 2 inputs to
     • operate 1 output
