PARALLEL LINES

PARALLEL LINES

1. PROPERTIES OF PARALLEL LINES

   • LINES PARALLEL TO GIVEN LINE
     • Two lines in the same plane perpendicular to a given line are parallel to each other
     • Lines, parallel to a given line in a plane, are parallel to each other
   • DISTANCE BETWEEN PARALLEL LINES
     • The distance between parallel lines does not change, it's the same every where

2. IP TWO PARALLEL LINES ARE CUT BY A TRANSVERSAL

   • Pair of corresponding angles are equal
   • Interior angles on the same side of the are transversal
   • Pairs of alternate (interior as well as exterior) angles are equal

3. DEFENATION

   • If two lines in a plane do not intersect each other, they are called parallel lines
