SPECIALIST PHONES - provides users with functions that meet particular user needs. Ex: Emergency Button, "Talking phone"- for blind people.

WI-FI - A way of connecting electrical devices to a network or the internet by using radio signals.

SMARTPHONES - use mobile phone connectivity, Wi-Fi, camera, virtual keyboard etc. Therefore shorter battery life.

SIM - allows internet connectivity using mobile phone networks.

MULTIFUNCTIONAL DEVICE - can perform a range of different functions.

CONVERGENCE - when designs of devices change so that they become similar to one another. (adopt features from other types of devices)

CPU'S carry out software instructions.

RAM - memory in computer system that is used for running software. Allows instructions to be loaded into the processor quickly. Holds all software instructions to be carried out, so more RAM will allow more programs to run at the same time. Instructions are loaded to RAM from storage (hard disk) therefore faster storage = faster loading of instructions.

VIRTUAL MEMORY - storage used by the processor once the space in RAM has run out.
