Explain what immiscible liquids are and how they can be separated.
Immiscible liquids are liquids that don't mix together but form a layer floating on top. For example, Oil does not dissolve in water because it is immiscible. To separate immiscible liquids you can use a separating funnel which has a tap that can be opened to allow the lower liquid to run out. Once it runs out the tap has to be closed so that the other liquid doesn't run out. Then you put another beaker under the funnel and open the tap to allow the upper liquid to be collected.
