Energy VS Matter

Flow Of Energy and Matter

Reminders

• When an organsim is consumed by another, the energy flows from the organism that was eaten to the predator that consumed it
• The arrows in a food chain/web always show the direction the energy flow. Arrows can be replaced with, "gives energy to..."
• The matter is also transferred in a food chain/web, and ecosystem
• Matter is anything that has mass or takes up space
