- The Declaration of Independence was made in 1776 and summarizes why the thirteen colonies wanted to break away from Great Britain. It is probably one of the most important documents in our U.S. history. The colonist were angry that the British kept making taxes higher and wanted to choose who ruled them. They wanted a government that wouldn't give them unreasonable taxes and made reasonable rules to follow. It was a lot of courage to write this document while still under the rule of the British. Some of the people that made it was Ben Franklin, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and Robert Livingston.

- The Bill of Rights was made on August 21, 1789. This document gives the individual rights of the people. This also was made to protect the freedoms of the people. The Bill of Rights are 10 amendments that were put into another document, so they don't have their own individual document. The Bills of Rights protect the people through the security of the government, which allows the government to enforce each law or amendment.

- They both are a set of laws that we still go by today. They also are over two hundred years old. They both are written for independence. One was giving independence and the other was giving the reasons why they wanted to be independent.

- The grievances were to address the conditions of woman economic, social and physical backgrounds. Some demands they made were to be equal and free. I think Stanton modeled the Declaration of Sentiments after the Declaration of Independence is so that she would get freedom and equality for women as they did for all men in the Declaration of Independence. They planed on moving the word around the U.S., they started many conventions and they started a women suffrage group. I think they had no say in what they were able to do or what was happening around them and that they were basically slaves but treated better.
