פרק יט

"קדשים תהיו כי קדוש, אני ה' אלקיכם"

• "You shall be holy for I the LORD, your God am holy."
• - G-D commands bnei yisrael to be holy because he is holy and they are his chosen nation.

"איש אמו ואביו תיראו ואת שבתתי תשמרו אני, ה' אלהי"

• "איש אמו ואביו תיראו"
• "You shall fear every man his mother, and his father"
• - When a person fears his/her mother and father it makes them have more respect for his/her parents
• - G-D wants us to have respect for our parents because he knows we can learn from them.
• -When we respect our parents we love them more and this is what G-D wants from us
• "ואת שבתתי תשמרו"
• "and you shall keep My sabbaths"
• - G-D commands us to keep his sabbaths and dedicate one day a week to resting.
• - On our sabbath we must keep learning the rules and laws of
• G-D.

"אל תפנו אל האלילם ואלהי מסכה לא תעשו לכם"

• "Turn you not unto the idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods"
• - Do not worship any other "gods" other than the LORD himself 'ה
• -Do not even make an idol that can be worshipped

"וכי תזבחו זבח שלמים לה' לרצנכם תזבחהו"

• "And when you offer a sacrifice of peace-offerings unto the LORD, you shall offer it that you may be accepted."
• - Don't offer the worst of what you own to G-D, offer the best since it was because of him you got it.
• - Give only the best to G-D so he may accept it since G-D only accepts the best from you.

בְּיוֹם זִבְחֲכֶם יֵאָכֵל וּמִמָּחֳרָת וְהַנּוֹתָר עַד יוֹם הַשְּׁלִישִׁי בָּאֵשׁ יִשָּׂר
