    Bagru printing is a traditional printing technique that is done using natural colours. It is generally done on a blue or indigo background.   Actually The Bagru is a small town where a community called ” chippa surviving for hand block printing since a century ago. It is also known around the world for natural coloured hand block printing.

    Hand Block Print is basically “Printing with wooden hand carved blocks” over fabric shell in different patterns and is known for mainly its natural colours Black, Mustard, Red and Maroon made with natural contents and prepared for print by mixing in seed powder gum material. pigment colour are use for making different shades of colours which are not available in natural contents.

    Although it is difficult for block printers to compete  against the modern design  and screen print , but still Bagru Village artists are doing this traditional print to keep alive the ancient and fading art.
