  1. Introduction to Trig

    • Terminal side- the ray at which the angle ends.
    • An angle in standard position has a vertex on the origin and the initial side of the positive axis.. It basically means that one ray of the angle is on the positive axis.
    • Co terminal angles have the same terminal side.
    • Quadrant angles are angles that lie on one of the four axis (90, 180,220, and 360).
    • Positive and negative angles=
    • Positive= counter clockwise. Negative= clockwise.
    • One radian= wrap the circumference around the circumference around the circle.
    • 2pi= one time around (6.2 radians).
  2. Radian Measure of a Central Angle:

    • theta= s/r
    • S= arc length
    • r=radius
    • theta=angle measure
    • Remember that angle measures can be written in longitude and latitude.
  3. Trig FUNctions:)

    • Sin= opp/hyp csc= hyp/opp
    • Cos= adj/hyp sec= hyp/adj
    • tan= opp/adj cot= adj/opp
    • Each function has an inverse.
    • Special triangles include:
    • -45 degree triangles -30-60-90 triangles
