Engineering

Engineering

1. Application of science and math to solve problems.

2. Types of engineering

   • Mechanical engineering
     • Design, inspection, and maintenance of machines also its maintenance and the control of performance
   • Electrical engineering
     • involves design, testing, manufacturing, construction, control, monitoring and inspection of electrical and electronic devices
   • Aerospace engineering
     • Related with the design and testing of spacecraft, airplanes, etc.
   • Civil engineering
     • design, construction, maintenance and inspection of infrastructure projects
   • Nuclear engineering
     • design, manufacturing, construction, operation and testing of equipment, systems and processes involving the production, control and detection of nuclear radiation
   • Biomedical engineering
     • Desing systems, equipment and devices for use in the practice of medicine
   • Chemical engineering
     • Desing of equipment, systems, and processes for refining raw materials to create products
   • Environmental engineering
     • practice of preventing, reducing and eliminating sources of pollution that affect air, water and land
   • Petroleum Engineering
     • Related with the production of hydrocarbons, which can be either crude oil or natural gas

3. Engineering is derived from the Latin Ingenium, meaning "cleverness"

4. Involves design, construction of things to solve a problem, also its maintenance.
