1. Checks that software produces the expected results

   • Check how robust a program is

2. Iterative testing

   • Carried out as the software is being developed

3. Final testing

   • Carried out when the code is complete

4. Valid

   • Data that should definitely work

5. Boundary data

   • Valid extreme
     • Should just fall into the range and pass
     • Invalid extreme
       • Should just fall out of the range and fail

6. Erroneous data

   • Incorrect data that shouldn't work

7. Syntax errors

   • Grammatical mistakes in the code

8. Logic error

   • Using wrong command etc
