HARDWARE

1. CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT

   • COMPONENTS OF CPU
     • controller- manages the execution of instructions
     • arithmetic and logic unit- processes and manipulates data
     • register- fast access temporary data store
     • internal memory- fast access memory on the CPU
   • OTHER COMPONENTS
     • BUSES- buses allow data to be transferred to different parts of the computere
       • address bus- storage address is transferred by the data bus
       • data bus- the path along which data travels is called data bus
       • control bus- the controller uses the control bus to send control signals to different parts pf the computer
   • COMPONENTS THAT EFFECT THE PERFORMANCE OF THE CPU
     • cache
       • cache memory is fast access type of memory; it is also very expensive
