1. Types of Services

   • processing - this means that you could run complicated programs remotely
   • software - you can pay to use the software remotely
   • storage - allowing your data to be stored remotely on the host's servers
   • infrastructure - you can pay to sue the host's hardware

2. Advantages

   • you can access your files from any device with an internet connection
   • it allows you to free up storage space on your device and storing files in the cloud can be more reliable than a USB stick or other hardware
   • the software is free
   • the software is updated online and doesn't need to be manually downloaded

3. Disadvantages

   • if the internet connection is the files can't be accessed
   • storing data online can make it more vulnerable to a security attack
   • you might not be able to store enough data online with one provider but more physical storage can be bought
   • there can be copyright issues with material stored online
