- How can meaning be communicated
- We had to read pages from a pdf about semantics, and from that make a graphic organizer with the information.
- Icon: a relation of similarity between the sign and what it represents; for example, a portrait, etc. Index: a cause-effect relationship; contiguity in space or time; for example, smoke and fire.Symbol: an arbitrary, conventional relationship between sign and meaning: for example, red flag and danger.

- Icon, Index, Symbol
- In this Activity, we answered the exercises in the box on page 8 of the reading we were working before.
- We had to look at some doodles and choose if they were Icons, Index or Symbols. Then we had to insert non-linguistics symbols in our culture. at least we had to find five examples of Icon, Index, Symbol.
- Non-linguistics symbols means the ones that dont include language or anything to describe what is representing.

Hw 1
- What is Semantics?
- In this activity, we had to explain the definition of semantics. First giving the definition of three authors, and then our definition.
- My definition: From what I’ve been reading from the authors that I mentioned before, it has a lot to do with language and linguistic, in simple word is a study of the meaning, thanks to semantics we can have the meaning of many words and phrases
