Leaf Cell
1. Function - Absorbs light energy for photosynthesis
2. Adaption
  1. Packed with chloroplasts
  2. Regular shaped
  3. Closely packed cells form a continuous layer for afficient absorption of sunlight
Root Hair Cell
1. Function - Absorbs water and mineral ions from the soil
2. Adaption
  1. Long 'finger-like' process with very thin wall, which gives a large surface area
Sperm Cell
1. Function - Fertilises an egg cell - female gamete
2. Adaption
  1. Head contains genetic information and an enzyme help to penetrate the egg cell membrane
  2. Middle section is packed with mitochondria for energy
  3. The tail moves the sperm to the egg
Red Blood Cell
1. Function - Contains haemoglobin to carry oxygen to the cells
2. Adaption
  1. Thin outer membrane to let oxygen diffuse through easily
  2. Shape increases the surface area to allow more oxgyen to be abdorbed efficiently
  3. No nucleus, so the whole cell is full of haemoglobin
