A theme may be present throughout an individual’s life, and this point is brought up again and again in different forms. Relating to this, Brockmeier (2000) discusses the Freudian concept of regression, so this model can be discussed when the course discusses existential psychotherapy. This model can also be discussed in dreaming, as recurring dreams are usually centered around the same topic but do not preserve every single detail from one night to the next.
