LD5(lethal dose): dose that is lethal to 5% of the population

ED95(effective dose): dose that produces a therapeutic response or desired effect in 95% of the population

x (horizontal)- the dose of the drug

y (vertical)- % patients responding

black: therapeutic

red: toxic effect (death or some kind of severe side effects)
