• Blood doesn't move in blood vessels
• diffuses into tissue directly while held in haemocoel (cavity)

Closed Circulation System

• Blood moves in blood vessels
• Bood moves through heart in passage around the body

Single Circulatory System

• Pass through the heart once in circulation
• Fish
• Heart > Gills > Body > Heart

Double circulatory system

• Blood passes through the heart twice in one circulation
• Mammals
• Heart > Lungs > Heart > Body > Heart
• Heart > Lungs
• Deoxygenated blood - to pick up oxygen
• Rapid flow - High Pressure
• Lungs > Heart
• Oxygenated blood - oxygen gathered in lungs
• Low pressure - flow lost in lungs
• Heart > Body
• Oxygenated - distribute oxygen to respiring cells
• High pressure/Rapid Flow - to complete full distance of body
