Interaction

When a force acts on a object the momentum is changed

Momentum = mass x velocity

When two forces interact they exert equal and opposite forces

If no other forces act, then momentum is transferred from one to the other

When two particles of the same charge interact, they will repel as a result of the momentum transfer between the particles

When two particles of a different charge interact, they will attract due to the way momentum is transferred

Exchange particles and force carriers

When particles interact and a force is exerted, the exertion of the force is brought about by the exchange of another type of particle, these are exchange particles

They are also known as force carriers because they cause a force to act when exchanged
