- 1COMMUNICATION SKILLS

- 2It is important to understand how good communication works and the barriers that can stand in your way.

- 3But many people struggle with them. Your thoughts and ideas may be misinterpreted if you can not express yourself clearly, either verbally or in writing.

- 4The communication process has five key elements

- 5first the source. This is you! You must be clear about why you are communicating and what message you want to convey. You should also be sure that your information is accurate and useful to your audience.

- 6the second is coding, which means putting your message in the right style and format so your audience can understand it easily. Get rid of any slang or local expressions that might confuse people. Check if information is missing.

- 7The third is the channel you will use, such as a face-to-face meeting, a phone call, an email or a report. For example, constructive criticism is likely to be better face-to-face, so that the person can hear their tone and see their body language.

- 8the fourth is the decoding is the process of reading or listening to a message and get a meaning of it. Your audience is likely to decode your message more accurately

- 9Finally, you should consider the recipient of your message and the context in which it will be received. How will they probably respond?

- 10Understand these five parts of the communication process and you can adjust your approach to make your message clear and effective.
