- 6What is the purpose of ROM?Stores a program used to boot up the computer.This is called the bootstrap loader.
- 7What is purpose of a power supply?It pumps electricity around the computer.
- 8What is the purpose of the computer case?To hold everything together.
- 9What is the purpose of the motherboard?It sends messages to all of the components inside the computer.
- 10What is the purpose of the Processor?it’s where all the processes are carried out.
- 11What is the purpose of the Hard Drive?It is where all of your documents, pictures, programmes etc. are stored on the computer.
- 12What is a repetitive strain injury (RSI) and what causes them?Usually damage to the fingers and wrists caused by
repeated movements over a long period of time. - 13What is the cause of back injuries when using a computer?Usually due to poor posture or sitting in an awkward
position when using a computer. - 14What is eye strain and what is the cause?Usually caused by staring at a computer screen for a
long time. Particularly in poor light, in glare or with a
flickering screen. - 15By law, what do employers have to provide for their employees? (in regards to working with computers)tiltable screens
