3Dalton's Atomic Theory stated that atoms couldn't be divided into smaller particles. Why was he wrong and who proved him wrong?Dalton's theory was wrong because atoms can be divided into smaller particles like subatomic particles. Thomson discovered the proton which proved that Dalton's theory wasn't correct and also Rutherford discovered the neutron and electron which also proves that Dalton's theory was invalid.
4What was the main purpose of the alchemist's experiments? Why were they unsuccessful?The alchemist's wanted to turn common metals like lead and mercury into gold. They were unsuccessful because according to Dalton's theory atoms cannot be created, destroyed or divided. Lead and other metals are different from atoms that make up lead, therefore, you can't take atoms that make up metal and create atoms that make up gold.
