1Setting: - Usual everyday places e.g in a house, usual workplace, schools - Fileds or forests - Concealed areas: dark places, abandoned warehouses, street alleys - Events e.g wedding, funerals.
2Narrative: - Death, murders (mass or individual), attempts to kill - Crimes; identity fraud, stolen money - Stalkers - Fight scenes - Protagonist V Antagonist
3Sound: - Non-diegetic; voice overs, creepy and eerie sounds, used to build tension, soundtrack - frightening to scare the audience - Diegetic; Short, snappy or sharp dialogue, use of non-diegetic ambient sounds e.g birds, wind blowing - Usually edited to fit the action in thriller films
4Main characters: - Protagonist; victim, brave, intentional hero, clever, works for the government (e.g police force) - Antagonist; criminals, mental health/psychotic problems, seeking revenge, obvious to the audience but play an important role in a twist to the plot.
5Props: - Gadgets; spy equipment, bags, phones - Money; vaults, money bags - Weapons; guns, knives, axe, chainsaw - Masks, balaclava, makeup (e.g for fake cuts and bruises)
