Cards in this deck (10)
- 1What is climate change ?Climate change is the change of the regular climate pattern over a significant amount of time.
- 2What are the natural causes of climate change? (CO2)Volcanic eruptions can cause massive releases of CO2. When the magma comes to the surface it makes the CO2 stored in there, a gas therefor coming up with the magma and releasing into the earths atmosphere.
- 3What are the natural causes of climate change ? (Methane)The digestive systems in domestic animals release methane with more domestic animals increasing the more methane is released into the atmosphere.
- 4What are the natural causes of climate change? (Nitrous oxides)When bacteria consume nitrogen from the atmosphere releases nitrous oxide into the atmosphere.
- 5Human causes in climate change ? (All 3)Palm oil plantations cause co2 into the atmosphere from the burning of forests.
Coal produces methane, when it is mined out of the ground the seam surrounding the coal contains methane that is then released into the atmosphere. The combustion of a car engine produces nitrous oxides. - 6What is the green house effect ?The green house effect is when the atmosphere absorbs heat from the sun to keep some of earths heat contained .
- 7What is the enhanced green house effect? Is when to much green house gases cause a thick atmosphere that consumes to much heat that the earth gets warmer.
- 8Evidences of climate change?Rise in sea level
The increase of 1.5 degrees around the globe.
The increased heat waves
Severe weather like typhoons. - 9What are the consequences of climate change Case study Bangladesh ?In Bangladesh 5% of2/5 of Bangladesh is under water as it is a Low lying costal region. There main industry, growing crops is ruined due to the salt water in the soil this is causing starvation. As an LIC their government will have trouble finding the technology to help the citizens of Bangladesh.
- 10Why do the rich have a larger carbon foot print than the poor? The rich have much more resources to use than the poor e.g electricity water etc. Because they are able to afford this it is easy for them to use as much as they like whereas the poor must be cautious of how much they use.
