James Dunn English 10 cards

Cards in this deck (10)

  1. 1If there are 40 electrons in an atom, how many protons are there? There will be 40 protons because protons=electrons
  2. 2What charge is a nucleus and why?Positive because it has protons( positive) and neutrons(neutral)
  3. 3what is a charged atom called?An ion
  4. 4What shares electrons, Ionic or covalent bondsCovalent bonds shares electrons
  5. 5What is the atomic number? The amount of protons in an atom
  6. 6If Chlorine(Ch) has a mass number of 35 and a atomic number of 17, how many protons, neutrons and electrons does it have?!7 protons and electrons(always the same ) and 18 neutrons
  7. 7How do you work out how many neutrons an atom has?Mass number-atomic number, for example with Chlorine(Ch) it would be 35-17, which is 18.
  8. 8What are the most and least reactive groups in the periodic table?Group 1(Alkali) are the most reactive metals, group 7(hallogens) have the most reactive non-metals and group 0(noble gases are very unreactive.
  9. 9Why are the noble gases the least reactive group in the periodic table?Because all the atoms have full outer shells so are satisfied.
  10. 10calcium has 20 electrons, what is it's electronic structure? It would have 4 electronic shells, with 2,8,8,2 electrons in the shells
