- 1STRUCTURE OF ATOM - THE NUCLEUS - In middle of atom - Contains protons and neutrons - Overall + charge as protons are + charged and neutrons are neutral -Most of mass of atom is the nucleusSTRUCTURE OF ATOM - THE ELECTRONS

ELECTRONS - tiny and negative charge - 3ELECTRON SHELL RULES -Electrons always fill shell (energy levels) -The lowest energy levels are filled first -Only certain amount can fit in each level: shell 1=2 shell 2=8 shell 3=8 -Atoms are 'happier' when shells are full -Atoms want to react when outer shell not full
