Cards in this deck (14)

  1. 1Name 3 output devices to help disabled students?Screen Magnifier
    Voice Synthesizer
    Dynovox
    Braille Printer
  2. 2Name 3 input devices to help disabled students?Puff-Suck Switch
    Voice Control
    Foot Mouse
    Eye Tracker
    Braille Keyboards
  3. 3What is computer system?A collection of hardware and software working together to achieve a set task
  4. 4What is an input and output device?Used to enter data into a computer
Used to show results of data that been processed by computer
  5. 5What is a peripheral? Is any hardware devices which connects to a computer and is controlled by the CPU
  6. 6What is clock speed?Processor sped measured in GHz billions of cycles per second so amount of fetch-execute cycles
  7. 7What is cache memory?Block of high speed memory and found in the CPU. Data transferred there to make faster it faster to react quicker for next task.
  8. 8What are multiple cores?Means if it's dual-core it can work 2 processors at the same time
  9. 9What is Ram?Random Access Memory as is volatile and stores windows that are currently open
  10. 10Why is upgrading Ram a good idea?Adds more RAM as will improve performance as it's faster so doesn't need as much virtual memory
  11. 11What is ROM?Read only memory as it stores BIOS as it's non-volatile but cannot be easily changes
  12. 12What is bootstrap loader?Contains the computers operating system as it loads it up when turned on
  13. 13What is virtual memory? If computer doesn't have enough Ram it uses up part of the hard drive. It's reserved as some applications move over however this is a lot slower
  14. 14What are the three types of secondary storage?Magnetic Storage
    Optical Storage
    Solid State Storage
