- 1WANWide area network- a network which covers a broad area such as a city or a county.
- 2LANLocal area network- a network that interconnects computers within area such as home, school, office etc.
- 3Output DeviceA device such as headphone which give out sound like what a projector does it gives out a image on a board the same with a monitor it gives you a picture
- 4Input DeviceAn input device is something that inputs information into a computer such as a scanner, barcode reader or even some MIDI instruments.
- 5Storage DeviceA storage device is something you can store data on such as an external hard drive and a flash drive also known as a USB stick or pen.
- 6SSDSolid State Drive which is an external hard drive with no moving parts and is harder to break than a normal external hard drive but solid states are more expensive.
- 7FireWireA fireWire is used to connect external hard drives or camcorders to the computer or laptop.
- 8RFIDRadio Frequency Identification Device. This device is normally put on expensive parcels or some animals such as cows.
- 9GPSGlobal Positioning System. Commonly used as a satnav in a vehicle. GPS requires 4 satellites to determine your location and your route.
- 10USBUSB known as flash drive is a portable device that can store any data.
- 11IP AddressIP Address is used to determine the location of a computer or laptop by what WIFI or internet connection it is on.
- 12SD CardSD Card commonly used in action cameras or camcorders is a portable device which can sometimes be put into the computer.
- 13Security KeyMainly known as a password mostly a WIFI password which is a combination of letters and numbers.
- 14VoIPVoice Over Internet Protocol mostly known as a phone service over the internet.
- 15CDCompact Disc used for playing music in CD players or in computer drives.
- 16DVDDigital Versatile Disc. Used for playing movies or films.
- 17Cloud StorageA service provided by most famous brands to store extra data at a cost.
- 18Open Source SoftwareIs a software with its source code made available with a liscence for copyright. it is free download
- 19Proprietary SoftwareYou have to pay for it it is not free.
- 20DMSDiary Management Software where you can organise events and share your events with your contacts.
- 21FirewallFirewall is a type of security that protects your computer over the internet.
- 22SSIDService Set Identifier which is a password protector so it is case sensitive.
- 23WEP, WPA, WPA2, AESThese are all types of security for the internet to keep your device safe.
- 24BluetoothThis is used for carphones or wireless speakers even some wireless keyboards for a Ipad
- 25Band widthIs the bit rate of the available or consumed data on a device.
- 26WIFIA facility allowing devices to connect to the internet.
- 27RouterIs a device in your home which broadcasts the wifi signal around the home for devices to connect to.
- 28ModemA combined device for example between the digital data of a computer and a analogue signal of a telephone.
- 29Remote WorkingRemote control e.g the cloud or mobile.
- 30Optical StorageIs the storage of data on a medium.
- 31Magnetic StorageA external harddrive which is held together by magnets
- 32CCTVClosed Circuit Television which is a meaning for camera monitoring systems.
- 33Key LoggerIs a computer program that records every key stroke.
- 34EthernetA system that connects every computer system to a server.
- 35User IDIs normally a user name and password for your computer or social media sites.
- 36DoSStands for Denial Of Service where no one can get on the website or it crashes.
- 37Data Capture FormIs designed to collect specific data they often use boxes or set amount of spaces this is designed to make sure all fields are filled in properly.
- 38EncryptionWhere you need a password or passkey to access the file and decrypt it.
- 39GUIStands for Graphical User Interface which allows users to interact with electrical devices through graphical icons and visual indicators.
- 40ForumForums you will find on websites where you can either ask questions or comment on others questions to help them out.
- 41PhishingIs the attempt to acquire usernames and passwords and other sensitive information illegally by hacking.
- 42Radio ButtonsRadio Buttons are found in forums where you can only have one choice e.g Male or Female.
- 43PasswordPassword is what protects your data like you have a password on your phone or computer it is protecting your data.

- 46Peer To Peer File TransferSharing digital media using networking technology.
- 47NFCNear Filed Communication is smartphones which can send a signal to e.g a machine within 10cm to let you in a building or pay for a meal using your bank account.
