Cards in this deck (9)
- 1What is variable?A variable is unique memory location within a computer that is used to store a data value, which can change as a program is running.
- 2What is the difference between a variable and a constant?A variable can be have the data value it is storing changed while the program is running. A constant, such as Pi (3.1415926535...) , has a predefined value that cannot and should not be altered.
- 3What is String Concatenation? The Process of merging 2 or more strings to form a string comprising of the originals.
- 4When is a variable first used?Whenever the variable is first assigned a value.
Note - some programming languages require you to declare all variables you intend to use before the start of the program. - 5Define AlgorithmAn algorithm is a sequence of instructions that can be followed in order to solve a problem.
- 6What is pseudocode?Pseudocode is code that is not a proper coding language but is used by programmers as an aid and a way to plan their program before they write it.
- 7What are the 6 main arithmetic operations and their syntax in python?Addition: +
Subtraction: -
Multiplication: *
Division: /
Floor Division: //
Modulus: % - 8What is selection?Selection is where program flow is controlled by a boolean condition which evaluates to true or false. The condition after IF specifies the circumstances in which the steps are to be executed
