4)Program counter - 2State what is meant by a protocolA protocol is a set of rules that the computer has to follow. If the computer doesn't follow these rules it wouldn't be able to run.
- 3Describe the difference between a LAN and a WANA LAN is Local area network which gives a small range of network within a small geographical area. However a WAN is Wide area network and gives a range within a large geographical area.
- 4State why computers need secondary storageA secondary storage is needed to store files which are needed to be stored permanently without being deleted because secondary storage is a non-volatile storage.
- 5Describe the differences between ASCII, Extended ASCII and UnicodeThe difference between ASCII , Extended ASCII and UNICODE is that ASCII is 7 bits, Extended ASCII is 8 bits and UNICODE is 16 bits. This means that ASCII can't represent as many character as Extended ASCII or UNICODE.
- 6Explain advantages/disadvantages of using Ethernet / WiFiThe advantages of Ethernet is that firstly it is much more secure. This is because it is a LAN connecting right into your computer. However it isn't good because it means that no other devices can connect to this LAN network. However a WIFI has a LAN network but in a larger range which other devices can connect to.
- 7Describe the difference between high level and low level languagesLow level language is a programming language designed to be understood by computers. However High level language is a programming language understood by humans.
- 8Describe the difference between a syntax and a logic errorLogic error is when you have an error in the code however the program still runs but in a inefficient way. However a syntax error is a error that won't allow the program to run.
