IP Parameters and Wireless Principles

Aliyah Merritt CCNA 2020 CCNA English 20 cards

Cards in this deck (20)

  1. 1Define what IP parameters you must know regarding Windows, Mac OS, and Linux.Ping, SSH, Telent, SCP, FTP, ipconfig, and traceroute.
  2. 2State the definition of wireless.Wireless is the exchange of data between two devices without the use of a cable.
  3. 3What is the SSID, and what does it stand for?The SSID is the name of the WLAN, and stands for Set Service Identifier.
  4. 4Wi-fi uses _____ __________ to communicate with other devices.Readio frequencies.
  5. 5How far apart are wi-fi radio fequencies.12cm.
  6. 6Wi-fi transmission relies on (how is it transferred)?Electromagnetic wavelengths, rather than air or temperature.
  7. 7Explain non-overlapping wi-fi channels.Channels that cannot possibly have the same frequency as any other because the channels are not overlapping. The channel is dedicated, with no interferance.
  8. 8What are the five wireless principles? (No description).LWAPP
    Roaming
    Broadcast and multicast handling
    Product choices
    Deployment consideration
  9. 9Describe LWAPP. (What is stands for and basic function).LWAPP stands for Lightweight Access Point Protocol. Provides ability for centralized WLAN architecture including configuration, management, and tunneling of traffic inside the WLAN to and from a central WLC.
  10. 10Describe Split MAC.One half of the 802.11 (IEEE wireless standard) Is managed by the LWAPP AP, and the other half is managed by the WLC.
  11. 11List as many features of LWAPP as you can.Frame exchange handshake, transmission of beacon frames, buffering and transmission of frames for clients in power save mode, response to probe request frames, forwarding probe requests, real time signal quality to change with every frame, monitoring radio channels, monitoring the presence of AP's. and encryption and decryption of 802.11 frames.
  12. 12What are some different methods a user can be authenticated?Identifying the user's credentials, MAC address, or by creating a captive portal.
  13. 13What can be some features of encrypted WLANs?May include a hidden SSID, authentication, or encrypted data from client to the AP.
  14. 14What is a captive portal?A captive portal is where you select a wi-fi source without a lock on it and are redirected to the captive point. Here, a user must enter a username and password to gain access.
  15. 15What does it mean when an unlocked wi-fi source is presented without a captive portal? When an unlocked wi-fi is presented, that means that the controller has been configured to let certain MAC addresses connect.
  16. 16Where does encryption occur in a WLAN network? (Between what devices)? Is there any encryption anywhere else in the network?Between the client and AP. Encryption does not happen beyond this point.
  17. 17What kind of frames get encrypted (management or data)?Only data frames get encrypted.
  18. 18What is a common type of encryption that sends a digital certificate between the source and destination and encrypts the path.HTTPS
    Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure
  19. 19WPA stands for...Wi-fi Protected Access
  20. 20WPA has two modes which are...Personal and enterprise
