| Question | Answer |
| Corrasion/Abrasion | Particles (load) carried along the river, rub and wear away at the rock on the beds and banks (like sandpaper). |
| Attrition | The rocks and pebbles hit each other and break down into smaller, smoother pieces or wear away to form sand. |
| Corrosion | A chemical reaction betwwen certain rock types (e.g. limestone) and river water. The acid in water wears the rock away. |
| Hydraulic action | The pressure of the water being pushed against the banks and bed of the river. |
