- 1What is the purpose of the CPU?The Central Processing Unit fetches, decodes and executes instructions.

It sends signals to control how data moves around the parts of the CPU - 5Role of ALUALU (Arithmetic Logic Unit) carries out the calculations and logical decisions required by the program instruction.
