Decision Tree Induction
Cards in this deck (4)
- 1What is Classification?A set of truples or records containing containing a set of attributes, where one of which is chosen as the target attribute i,e. class label.
- 2ClassificationClassification is the process of constructing a model that assigns each object to a predefined class.
A classification model can be descriptive and predictive. Objects are described and distinguished of different classes. Predict the class label of a unknown instance or missing value. - 3Classification Applications-Credit approval
-Target marketing
-Medical diagnosis
-Fraud detection - 4Classification is divided in two sets-Training data for constructing a model.
- Test data for evaluating the accuracy of the model.
The classification consists of two steps; model construction and model usage. Building a model using the training data and validating the model using the test data.
